Final double page spread

This has worked out a lot differently than I planned but I think it has became good and meets the needs and wants of my target audience.

Final front cover.

This is my final front cover. It is very different from my flat plans but I think that it has worked out for the best by adjusting my ideas and morphing it into something that my target audience will want to buy.

Production monitoring blog.

I left my article till the last week and completed it all in time for my deadline. I decided to carry on the colour scheme of blue black and white I started off with adding the photos where I wanted them and then text boxes where I wanted them. I wrote out my article on word and inserted it into indesign. I decided on my fonts I wanted and edited the page. I added a background that faded from white to blue as well I thought this would make my black text stand out a lot more. I also added page numbers for my article.

Production monitoring blog

On Monday morning I decided that my magazine front cover had too much unnecessary text in the background, this reduced the amount of sell lines and images I could insert around my main image. I thought that if I deleted all of that text and replaced it with main sell lines which would appeal a lot more to my audience.

To make my magazine title stand out I decided to use a stroke on my text to emphasise the white writing on the black background, I used a rather thick stroke and inserted the colour orange. Following this I inserted a shape and created a thick stroke around the circle which would emphasise the black text inside.

I decided to add 3 images that would be included in my article into my front cover which would be rather small but would still stand out; I will use these as a teaser for my audience to want to read further. I also used a thick white stroke around these to make them stand out a lot more from the rest of the front cover.

I added a lot of sell lines in different fonts and sizes, I think this will attract my audience towards the magazine. I also decided that I needed to colour co-ordinate my magazine front cover so I decided to use an electric blue for certain bits of my text and on some strokes around text and images. I now have 3 colours that all co-ordinate well on my front cover. The black enhances the white surrounding my main image which will attract readers to be dragged in to look at the main image first creating a good impression enticing them to at least read the front cover.

This week I need to write my article and finish it. I will need to prepare the background page and work fast. I will need to use my info track research that I gathered for my article. I will need to be able to successfully use in design on photoshop. I may not be able to work out how to insert an image where I may need to ask for help. I may not know how to carry my text on from one page to another therefore I will have to once again either ask for help or read up on the internet about it.

Production monitoring blog

I used a black background to make my "future robot" stand out and look more dominant in the image. She is holding a clock to represent the message that time is running out for us as humans to make a change, a message that I am trying to get across in the article.

I got my image and inserted it in to an A4 international paper and scaled it into size then I got my image and used the polygon lasso tool to cut out harshly in a spikey style around my models body .

Then I inserted the image into an A4 black back grounded document used CTRL+T and then shift and changed the sized of my image whilst avoiding making it pixelated. Then I used a stroke tool for the outside of the image of my model and filled it in white in a small stroke going right around the image. I think this brings a lot more emphasis onto my model being the main image and focus of the magazine.

I used a size 36 font and it is called terminal which I did not get externally from photo shop. I think this font style relates to my magazines image and article inside. This is going to be used as my mast head this is the main title i.e. magazine brand. As we read from top to bottom it is conviniently placed here.
I inserted a bar code for my magazine so it can be sold. This is placed in the bottom right hand corner so it is not distracting the persons intrest from the front cover.
I inserted text that wrapped around the main image, all the text used relates to global warming in a way.

I think I may need to add images ontop of this text to make it more appealing to my target audience. I will need sell line sand image in here I think. I'm not to sure because I think if it looks minimulistic my audience may take an interest.

Production monitoring Blog

Last week I decided it would be a good idea to get my photos taken in the studio a lesson before this I decided to find my props and catch up with my models and give them de briefing this was rather time consuming and took my whole hour and a half. The next lesson I went down to the studio and took my photos for my project with my models I took about 40 photos in total this will help me pick the most relevant ones I was to incorporate into my magazine this took a whole hour also everything ran smoothly as I had everything prepared and in order for my photo shoot I was pleased as I knew how I wanted my models to pose and directed them how to use their facial expressions well.
The next lesson I started to edit my photos but the power cut out before I had time to save my work and we were evacuated out of the building I had to draw up my flat plan so by the time I found somewhere to start I had about 10 minutes left of the lesson therefore this lesson was rather wasted. This week I want to start editing my photos and creating/ finishing my magazine front cover in time to write up my article and add images into it. I will be in the media room on a computer using photo shop to edit my images. I will need to crop my images, use different fonts and maybe download them insert sell lines etc. In case another power cut occurs I will be saving my work as I go along every time I do something new to my work. I will just try to back up my work as best as possible and try to gain access to another computer.

Magazine image mock ups

Here I started to edit the photo by adjusting the contast and adding a packground through using the lasso tool on the background and thenchoosing a pattern I wanted to use.

I carried on to add A title that involved a font which I filled in red. I also added a black border to the magazine as I think this will help make the magazine stand out. The title is red filled as it relates to the name of the magazine also it makes the magazine stand out a lot more. I also went on to add a bar code to the magazine front cover.

Mock up of double page spread

This is a mock up version of my double page spread. I have inserted collumns in Indesign, inserted images and learnt how to wrap my text and oputline around text like I have dont for my main headline. This is potentially what my article could look like I am expiriementing trying to find a layout that I like and think fits the style of my magazine.

2 MAGAZINE FRONT COVER MOCK UPS

Here I used a brush that I downloaded everywhere and covered up most of my original images background.

Here I used a brush on the right hand corner which gives a lot more texture to my front cover I need more text but I like the layout a\nd the way I inserted a shape
